ssl comp uses?

I'm looking for a good 2 bus comp similar to
what the 2500 can do with drums. Something
with some nice punch! Does this comp have
those by-products?

indeed.

the 2500 is a vca limiter as well. they sound VERY different but will get you to a similar place, the SSL is WAAAAY more extreme sounding that the 2500. The auto release is really nice for mixing through.
