SSL Compressor Question

Hi,

Someone knows what the diode do in the RATIO selector???....When this Diode will be in direct polarization (in conduction)???

May be a explanation for that RATIO section will be good in order to see the overall performer!!!.....

mmmmm....I found nothing in order to confirm the 0.6 Fixed Voltage drop.....for me the diode isn´t in conduction ever......Please could you tell me when or how is this diode in conduction???
