Hi to all,

Im building an passive monitor switch an Im not sure if use a Dual A1k potentiometer or make an attenuator.
Now I have the input and output relay based stages .

With a 4pole 24pos switch and Im using a H-Pad calculator to get the resistor values.
In that case, what kind of dB scale use for the steps?

Thanks a lot fellas. 8)

I think this may help, it has more than what you want but you can take the things you don't away, though they are easy so recommended, they are useful.

It would probably be best to use a stepper attenuator because of tracking, in dual log pots isn't that good, and here you can't use linear (with much better tracking) and a resistor to make it log, so you will need or a very expensive pot or a 2pole attenuators, steps are on you, 24 is probably fine. You don't really need 4 pole switch.

Thanks for the answer,

I know that document, but i allready have the rotary switch as you can see in the pic, and the idea is to build a only one Rotary attenuator to control the stereo and balanced signal.
Im not sure of what kind of Pad( h-t)use and the recommended scale of db reduction per step to control the volume.

My apologies for my English

Nacho
