Hi all...
I am not new to tube amps and such but I have ran into a problem that I need some advise about.
Having two Edcor CZPP50-6k6 output transformers coupled into two pairs of EL34's the voltage exceeds 600V on the plate while the B+ is around 462V. The OPT has a 40% screen tap which gives 460V, but as mentioned the plate is above 600V and my DMM is limited to 600V.
One of the OPT is producing a pretty raw buzz (no speaker or signal) and when I touch the DMM at this OPT plates the buzz somewhat disappears but also there is a spark. Poor connections? Well everything is brand new and have been resoldered a couple of times.
So I need some advise before I go further.
Best regards
/John
