another compressor idea arising...

summing 8 channels (four channels left, four channels right) based upon prr´s vari mu.

channel outputs are summed twice: the first buss feeds the sidechain amp (tl074) , the pot sets the priority of each channel.

Very nice as something to put on the mantlepiece, but really guys, what's the point? It's only a compressor with a very simple sidechain and a way of biasing the channels.... It will sound nice because of the use of vari-mu tubes, but it's a lot of effort for not a lot of result. ... use a simple opto; it's easier.... and cleaner.

Very hastily..... to ioaudio; I didn't mean to sound insulting... it really is a nice idea; but I wouldn't do it. :guinness:

...so you have multiple, summed inputs and a common control sidechain? -What the heck for??? -You nd up with a worse version of a single compressor acting on the sum, because of any tracking errors...

-Plus, seperating the summing and compression into seperate boxes means you can pick the tool for the job...

But that's beside the point... -I think this is a bad idea for the first reason that I mentioned.
