So I have this Superlux CM-H8D that I got years ago and it was so much better than my 58 for recording vocals :) fast forward and
Now I'm working on tracking vocals for a "real" record and I'm wondering if a capsule change would help with the aggressive/fatiguing top end?
Its got tons of output and the top end distorts easily - in an unpleasant way. I also have a Nady900 with a set of the 87 boards to build up and a rode NT1-A - was thinking this superlux capsule might be good with the 87 circuit build and put a 47type capsule in this one. Thoughts? Opinions?

As long as the Superlux circuit doesn't have a HF filter to reduce the U-87 type highs, your idea seems valid. You can always upgrade later, if the capsule doesn't float your boat.
