Hi…

I searched the forum and the net for this but I cannot find it for sale in Europe.

UA and Kenetek in the U.S can provide them but they will be very expensive when arriving in Sweden. I have found a company from Poland that makes them but only as a part in their own products.

So if anybody could guide me in a direction where to find a proper T4B in Europe it would be very nice.

Thanks in advance

Thank you sir

Yes, I have read about the trouble to find opto cells of various constructions in the EU. I a way I guess it is good to reduce the use of hazardous material to protect the environment but it is a stick in the wheel for us who use components containing such material.

But, do you know if the this IGS T4BX reacts and works like the Kenetek T4B for example? I mean is it a workable replacement? The price is around half the price of a Kenetek T4B. Shipped to, and tolled in Sweden  ???

Best regards

/John

I have a spare Kenetek, the regular slow one, you can have it.

pm me, I'm located in Berlin

I bought a load off eBay and made my own with led sheet, pretty easy to make, I'm assuming the ones available on eBay will still ship ok as it in U.K., just have to make sure they are labelled as something else maybe?

Thanks guys

kosi: That is very kind of you. How much do you want for it?

Spencerleehorton: That is an interesting choice… to make it on my own. You say it is pretty easy but can you tell me where if you know a good retailer for the rest of the stuff needed… 8-pin male connector, cover, led sheet and a suitable pcb?

I asked Drip Electronics and they say that they have them on sale for 75USD each… which sounds like a good price?

Hi,

https://sites.google.com/site/diypartsstore/catalog/new-t4b-opto-el-panels

Type into google  T4b diy and loads of pictures and info out there, it's a simple little pcb to make, tricky matching the photocells, but make sure you buy a load and should get a match.

Spence.

Spencerleehorton: Yes, I found that page but I haven't contacted them yet… all the needed pieces together would be 40USD and I don't know how much shipping to Sweden would be but probably rather expensive as usual from the states. I will send them an e-mail and ask anyway.

Gyraf: Yes, I will just look for a chisel and scrape away :D

btw: Off the topic… reading that thread makes you wonder if there would be an acceptable solution to substitute the photo resistor for something else… I mean we have been to the moon and back so i figure that some solution must be out there somehow?

it's the catch and release of that old school compressor that people like,

if you start to monkey with the T4 module then you may as well build an 1176,

were talkin bout bass fishin,right?

Yes, I love fishing even though we only have one spieces of bass in Sweden... and I also love the catch and release of old  school compressors... I won't leave the LA2A type of compressor out :)

Absolutely.......LA2A and bass, oh yeah baby !
DIY T4.......gave up got a life to live.
Any home brewed T4B won't even get a chance
Kenetek's got it nailed, and taken years of practice.

I hear you…

I have a couple of Keneteks and they are great… but they get expensive after all taxes and toll fees. Arrived in Sweden you pay roughly 140 euros each… or something like 110 GBP.

Are there any sort of spice models for the T4B and is there any particular reference specs for the T4B. Surely a reasonably close equivalent could be manufactured using more modern components?

Close equivalent or better is probably what I am looking for.

I have looked for parts to build them myself but I cannot find a dealer in europé and if I order the parts from the U.S it would be a cost Close to a complete.

Do you have info about a dealer in Europé?

Best regards

if you punch in T4b in the G-DIY engine you will get an additional 200 threads if you limit to the Lab and DB.
