I don't see why they wouldn't be. I know they've been around for ages already (their 40th anniversary seems to have been in 2019).

I've seen their discrete components (diodes, bridge rectifiers) in countless power supplies and all other sorts of gear. I have my doubts they would've made it this long / far if they were making crap or fakes...

TSC is one of the biggest manufacturers in the world. They produce chips for Apple, amongst others. They're quite capable...

You're confusing them with TSMC - these are the ones with the complex semiconductor foundries.

+1 I owned TSM stock decades ago. I also agree with Abbey, I never saw them sell commodity poop... may be fakes.

See my previous post; they're not the same company.

TaiwanSemi (discretes) was founded in 1979, while TSMC (processor foundry) came to be in 1987.

So we still don't know...
And how do you figure that?

And why is BC560C no longr being made when EVERYTHING I want to build needs them?!
Are you trying to say it's (now) impossible to find anything equivalent, even? Granted, they might not have the exact same pinout (nothing a bit of leg-twisting can't fix), but still... How about the KSA992? Or ZTX795A, or ZTX796A?

Thx for setting me straight, Khron. I get more and more confused with acronyms these days.

They are still being made:

And yes, they work fine. I use them in my V672X etc with no regrets.

Because someone thought they were a different company and no one chimed in with "But hey, I've been using their stuff for years and it's awesome..."

No. I'm not saying that. Just that 550s are really hard to find.

How will these equivalents work in complimentary pairs with actual 550s?

Maybe because differences for the same part number from different manufacturers are too small to sense (if not inexistent)? I'm struggling to recall the last time i've read about anyone raving about a particular small-signal transistor...

And you were complaining(?) about "only" the difficulty in sourcing BC560C's. I believe all (or at least most) of the datasheets of those respective transistors mention whatever NPN counterpart they have.

Would an enduser (as in not a big business who will buy thousands) like me be able to order from them?

Bc860 is the smt version of bc560...some to92 adaptors and you are good to go if you don't want to source a different transistor...

Yeah. So. Let me try again.

I don't care about peoples' experiences with ONE component. I was asking about the COMPANY. Some companies make crap. Some don't.
