They are still being made:

And yes, they work fine. I use them in my V672X etc with no regrets.

Did you purchase directly from them?

No, they are easily available in Germany:

Are they really 5 cent each? Wow.

I think these parts that Volker showed us from Reichelt are from CDIL.

I still haven't heard either way whether Taiwan Semi is producing quality.

They are indeed. Thanks for pointing this out.

I'm still not quite sure just what sort of answer you expect. And anyway, how do you define something as vague (as far as electronic components are concerned) as "quality"?  ???

Quality in the context of active electronic components applies to meeting or exceed specifications. It mainly matters when they don't meet spec.

TSM has been blamed for the semiconductor shortage shutting down several automobile factories. Apparently automotive is something like 3% of TSM's total business, but not very profitable. The auto industry is the original sharp pencil price negotiators.

As more IC companies go fabless depending on companies like TSM to make their parts we may see more supply issues.

The reason I asked about the CDIL and more specifically for the bc560C is because on their datasheet they don't contain any graphs, which might be a bit suspicious.

And why is BC560C no longr being made when EVERYTHING I want to build needs them?!

TO-92 package is already obsolete. The industry is just using SMD parts

anyway you can buy as many BC560C as you want from Banzai:

http://www.banzaimusic.com/BC560C.html

So I got a few BC560C from Reichelt to try out and the only marking I can see is

"CTBC
560C
JS"

Does "CT" means something? Like manufacturer for example? Anyone using those little guys?

Thanks. Are these CDIL? It doesn't mention the brand on their website but the datasheet is from CDIL and it's a rather basic one.
I'm pretty sure they do mention CDIL's name somewhere there.

I've been using them to build 2520 opamps for months now on Volker's recommendation. When I test a random sample against some On Semi examples that I have, the CDIL's test better.
