I have a Tascam US-122 unit gathering dust. One of the mic/line inputs is screwed up due to hot plugging of a mic. It was evidently a very common problem with the US-122 due to their not having any zener protection.

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas of how to bypass the majority of the analog area of this usb unit - mic pres, p48, etc. so that mic-pres of my own making could feed into the ADC's...

Opening it up, it's obviously mostly smt stuff.

I haven't been able to find any schematic online.
no, no switches bypassing anything. The signal goes through the pres whether its hi or low z.
Thanks, now I'll be very careful with inputs...
