Always a fixture, visible from the highway I knew I was close when driving up north to San Francisco.  The same for leaving San Francisco.
Adios ampex sign. Maybe someone will buy it and put it in a museum

I would snatch it up. I am just missing space to put it and money to buy it.  But other then that I'm good.

o.k. so it looks like some friends of mine put the word out to a local museum about the sign. While the musums focus is l.a. they put the museum  in contact with those who are storing the sign.  The reason is that ampex had such a huge history in recording music, t.v. and film. hopfully they will make a deal and save the sign.
