Wait! What?  Wow, I had no idea about this project.

They certainly don't look like 4 guys who aren't having fun being Beatles which has always been the popular myth surrounding those sessions.

Great shots of the REDD.37 and REDD.51 together too, best I've ever seen.

Another great day of discovery in 'The Brewery' for me, THANK YOU!

Right? That was my first take-away. Gosh, John looks like he's having a ball. This did my spirit good.

That was cool, great to see them all larking about when the prevailing "wisdom" about the times has suggested that ructions and disagreement were the order of the day.

I was intrigued by George's Tele, unusual neck. The body reminded me of a rather famous "Botswana Brown" Tele.

That all-rosewood Tele is something I've always wondered about. There's tons written about its history, but I've never heard anyone give an honest assessment of what it sounded like. I've built my fair share of Telecasters over the years but never once thought of something like rosewood for a whole neck, let alone a body.

A friend sent this to me this morning and I literally cried. I love those guys so much and seeing them in such HD clowning around and hanging out just made them so human and real. So excited for it.

Thanks for the comment, I didn't realise it was all rosewood! Wouldn't have been my first choice mind you. However, I like that rhythm guitar track in Get Back so there you go.

I've only "assembled" a couple of Teles, I settled on a 2 piece swamp ash body with vintage routing (tight pickup cavities), maple neck and rosewood fret board, Slider's pickups, candy apple red, all pretty standard. The other one was a one-piece elm body that my brother actually cut and routed from wood he had seasoned. Teles rock.

I knew that some people here would like that. 🤓

Besides the fantastic music and top notch gear porn, I always find the Fab Four's wardrobe fascinating. Have you seen Ringo and Geoge's outfits? Man, are we boring today....

I'm curious what Peter Jackson and his team will do with this footage!

Does anyone know the exact model name of these stylish gooseneck microphones? AKG??

Thanks Rock, eagerly waiting for August now.

I took my dad to see Peter Jackson's "They Shall Not Grow Old" which used similar(the same?) technology to restore footage from 1914 through 1918. That footage looked great on the big screen.

But the preview of this Beatles doc looks like the footage was shot just last week on the latest HD, rather than 50 years ago on 16mm. Astonishingly good.

:)

I'm looking forward to see the movie. I am really curious about the still unknown material.

"They Shall Not Grow Old" was very impressive. It's amazing how the temporal distance melts when the monochrome footage is colored afterwards. The past becomes the past present and becomes very comprehensible.

Thank you so much for sharing I was not aware of this project neither did I know there were that many Beatles private footage still unreleased.

Can't wait to see it

Apparently according to the link I posted in message #17, you have to subscribe to the Disney Plus cable TV channel to view it. Many people (including me) don't subscribe to cable TV so we won't see it. Bummer.

CORRECTION! Just for grins, I did a bit of digging and Disney Plus is a streaming service vs. a cable channel and costs $7.99 USD per month.
