Hello,
in this days i've read many many post here, expecially about the GSSL compressor, wich is my dream for now...

I'm not a "king" of DIY and elettronic, but i've build little electronic projects like an RIAA pre-amp, an Amp for headphones and some other little things.

Now i wanna realize he GSSL but i have fear that is a too much difficult plan for my abilities, and i'm searchin' a compressor easier to realize
than gssl..

I hope someone have some ideas, or push me about realizing the GSLL :)

Is the GSSL a project really hard for an "electrical newbie" like me with some soldering skils and some basic electronic knowledge, or theres an option for putting one self-made compressor in my rack :)

thanks

Ciccio,
Go for the GSSL, it's the easiest project around here.
I made me one as my 1st diy project and it was a success at the 1st try.
And in caso of troubles, there is a bunch of info around here, all for free!!
Anyway..

im with kruz here, the gssl was my first project too. had a little problem with it and i figured it out myself... the gssl is not too hard.

you learn as you go i suppose... i learned a lot.

try it and you will succeed.
was my fist project as well and this compressor rules studio.
just be prepared to spend a little more money and time than expected.
if you have any sort of problem you'll find a solution for it
on this forum

I'd go for the GSSL. I am by no means a DIY Whizz...
but my GSSL worked directly as I pluged it in.

I used the PCB:s from Swedish Chef, or maybe Gustav (don't remember)

I strongly recomend using pre-made pcb:s as I think it eliminates a lot of thinkable errors. What I do is check the components value printed on the pcb and then double-check with the instructions from the net.

I also recomend measuring the resistors just to be shure its the correct value. I started out building a few stompboxes for guitar, then I moved on to more complex stuff. I've now finished the GSSL, a stereo CALREC-CLONE and the G9. They all actually worked directly when plugged in.... well one more thing: Always read through all the stuff written about your project in this forum before the build. It's a great help !

Peace
Magnus

Thanks a lot guys... in this days i buy the pre-made pcb and go for the GSSL :)
