An update,
I replaced the two power tube sockets with ceramic sockets from Tube Depot.

So far the amp is behaving itself, no self destruction and actually sounds a bit tighter overall. I will mostly likely swap out all the tube sockets for these ceramic guys when I replace the 40/40/40 500v cap that sorely needs replacing. I'll test it at on a session this weekend so crossing my fingers.
Does anyone know a source for these ceramic pcb mount sockets with slightly longer pins. These guys just barely pushed through the circuit board.
