Last weekend I made my second attempt to graft some apple tree buds, onto my pear tree. The pear tree is very prolific with fruit I don't eat, and the apple tree has been slowly failing.

I tried some grafts late last summer with no success, but that was the wrong time of the year. Since the pear tree is in full blossom now, and the apple tree not far behind, I tried about 4 bud grafts last weekend.

I should know in several weeks whether these look promising...

I know it's not nice to fool mother nature, but this is just helping her make some more apples.

It would probably be easier (not really) to plant a new apple tree. Probably a higher chance for success.

Anyone here have success with grafting tree branches?
