tube heater question

I know heat is not a good thing if it doesn't need to be there... But would there be any major harm done by leaving the tube heater power supply on all the time? Like what if the warmup/standby stage was perminant. How much wear and tear is this really?

None. I have tubes that have been on 99% of the time since the late 1970s. It isn't an issue.
