Hey guys,
pardon my ignorance on the subject....but what is the difference between an Amperex EF86 and a Amperex Bugle Boy Ef86???
I've seen some Amperex EF86 on Ebay, but they didn't say bugleboy, so I was wondering if it would be a good choice for G7...
thanks
Gil

Thanks Dave,
I suspected that it was the same thing...
Which do you think would be better for the G7: Amperex or Telefunken??
thanks
Gil

Really, I was just kidding around. I don't know if there's any difference.

As for the Amperex/Telefunken question, I'll have to leave that to someone else since I've never been into "taste-testing" tubes. I use what I have on hand, or can buy at a reasonable price, and don't worry about it beyond that.

The Bugle Boy logo means the tube was made in Holland and burned in for 24 hours prior to sale.

Other EF86's under the Amperex name may or may not have been made in Holland, so it is the luck of the draw.

The "Bugle Boy" tube is a Philips tube (the same as Mullard, Valvo etc.). A "normal" Amperex tube could be a Sylvania for instance (another Philips company), or from some other factory.

Best regards,

so, some valvo's EF86 wouldn't be a bad choice then, right???
there are some on evilbay, I was debating whether I should or not....
thanks
Gil
