Does anyone know where I can get new versions of the Amphenol style 6 pin cable end and big PSU socket please? I want it to look authentic as possible. Using the Vintage chassis.

Are you looking for the vintage Tuchel 6pin or something modern?

It can be modern but Binder seem to be obsolete with the Flea/Neumann style and I am struggling to find similar panel mounts with Tuchel connection.
Thanks Guys!

Binder makes the Tuchel type but smaller (M25). Original was M30. So, the 6 pin "Große Tuchel stecker" is long time obsolete. Only one as the direct replacement is Flea aftermarket replacement. If it's not available, then only option you have is the used or NOS one. It can be fouund on Ebay from time to time.

These guys (Sonicworld) seem to have them occasionally and there are listings on Reverb but I have the same dilemma. I need one to make a cable for a rebuilt U47, the original cable got lost when the studio moved.

Does anyone know of any substitutes/modifications that have worked? Would it be possible to adapt the smaller Tuchel?

Again, Flea makes the replacement aftermarket but for the genuine U47 you should really buy original vintage Groß Tuchel. Be patient, search at Ebay for some time. It will show for the acceptable.price.

Another option would be Leo Schaal

He specialises in custom cables and PSUs for tube mics, and produces his own version of the Amphenol T3042
It doesn't look like the original but it sure fits the original.
Dunno if he would sell just the connector, or if you'd need to buy the whole cable from him...

Below are pics for comparaison.

I will check in with him, that seems like a possibilty. Incidentally, I found Flea Microphones - googled 'Flea Microphones, go figure - but it appears they only sell complete U47 kits, according to their website.

Thanks

I know for a fact that Flea sold spare parts and connectors. But you need to contact them...

To complete the list I posted yesterday, here's another version of the vintage Amphenol Tuchel in black, shorter but with a spring cable retainer:

and another modern copy made by Telefunken Elektroakustik USA. Dunno if they sell the female connector separatly, but you can get the whole cable for $600. Perhaps one of the most expensive option, but their look is the closest to the original.

…except for the garish white printing on the cable!

I think it’s rather unlikely that they would sell just the connectors, but fairly likely that FLEA would

Garish is the word indeed!
But I guess if you're willing to fork out $600 for a nice looking pair of plugs, you can spend a little more and upgrade the cable...

Everywhere is out of stock. I can't even find the 7 pin Binder in the U.K. No reply from Ivan at Flea yet and I have bought 4 of their mics. Leo Schaal has been the most responsive so far.
