Planing Thiersch capsule dmp, I did G7 recently with red line Thiersch M7 and I was astonish how it is sound!

I have a Thiersch blue in mine. That is what I'll use again if I can get them. Currently in limited production of the blue.

I have Beyer in G7 1:10 and this trannie are great for microphones...great sound to!

AFAIK, original Neumann U47 were more 'turret board' than P2P...

I bought both a few years ago to compare. They definitely sound different. Different flavors.

Good clarification - though I use the terms interchangeably (PTP includes turret board construction IMO)
Important to notice the high impedance board at the top is acrylic (or plexiglass) while the lower boards can be fiberglass

Interesting - mine is setup for remote pattern switching. Is it just a 3dB noise floor rduction or does it sound better in other ways?
I really regret not buying a Neumann capsule when they sold them new through Sennheiser here in the USA
I've never risked buying a used one on ebay.

In the originals it sounds better to switch to cardioid only. Just disconnect the rear diaphragm but set the pattern to omni. I believe that’s what Neumann recommends. Give it a try.
As far as second hand Neumann capsules it’s risky but so far I was lucky. Just inspect the diaphragm in the pics and make sure it’s not reskinned…

Some values are not correct or bit off but OK for a start. Also, transformer color code is not compatible with the original Bv.08
