v14 green pre: red wire and pot

i hope i don't ask a question many people have already asked before! where is the red wire you can see on this image linked? i can see the start but not the end!!

The answer is in the setup notes, sets the meter pre- or post- the output trim control.

Can i borrow this thread to ask something related to this issue....

Is it possible to put in a switch (ON-ON) between B-A and B-C (the PCB-pic in the link above), instead of the choice of "red cables"? Then you have the opportunity to check the signal before AND after the pot. Or might it be problem with the trimming of the meter? I mean maybe it must be trimmed different if you check the signal before the pot in comparicy with after.

You could put in a switch, but I dont see the point.. :?

I think the really important position is before the output trim control, so you can see the level after the gain stages. After the output trim, there is no more gain! I really just put this in as an option....
