V74a circuit design question

I am refurbishing some V74a and I realized that the 200k resistor (position 21) leading to the grid of the first tube is paralleled with a 3M resistor, reducing the value to about 188k. This appears to be factory made, but what might be the reason for that? To me the change appears to be so small, why make the effort?

Everything fine here, I can see the photo, but I have no idea what this 3M resistor is doing. No big difference indeed.
