Hello everyone.

I am in the process of recapping/repairing my old API 2488 desk.
While i had all the modules on the bench I thought i would take some pictures to share with you all.

Hope you enjoy them!

API 528 Input module:

I have not checked if this is the same as a 512 preamp, must be very similar though.
Can post the schematic if there is any interest.



API 550 Eq:

This is the original early version.



API 550A-A Eq:

When i looked through all my 550a eq´s i found out that there is actually 2 versions.
This is the earlier 550A-A circuit board.
The later 550A-B below has some circuit changes, and a larger IN switch.
True bybass maybe?



API 550A-B Eq:

This is the later 550A-B version.
Cool that there is different, original opamps in all the eq´s!!


API relay board:

Need to replace those old Siemens relays!
Does anyone know a source for these??
There is a Tyco replacement, but its very expensive here in Sweden.
Would love to find them cheaper somewhere else.



API sum and boost amps:

These are sum and boost (after fader) amps for the stereo bus.
Nice opamps and iron!!

Hey API,

would love to see the schematics for the input module! It uses 2623-1 output trannys which I hope to use in my 312 style pre (scored some on the bay),

If you get the courage, unhook a 2503 and a 2623-1 and get the dcr.

I've got a 2623-1 on a VCA board that I will be stripping so I can measure whatever you need. DCR is DC resistance right? So am I measuring the resistance across each winding, series, parallel? What do you need?

Oh cool!
Yes, dc resistance, i think they do some internal connections, the dcr will tell me if it's just a 2503 with the sec in series or something.

Ok CJ,

I just desoldered a 2623-1 from the board and measured the following with my multimeter

Primary DCR - 16 ohms
Secondary 1 DCR - 24.6 ohms
Secondary 2 DCR - 24.1 ohms

I hope this is what you need. Any thoughts you have on this tranny would be appreciated. My reading of it is that they'll make perfect outs for my 312s with the secondarys in series. Any more info needed just shout, I'll be up for a while,
