WA-84 Omni Capsule Conversion

I recently purchased a Warm Audio WA-84 omni capsule. I wanted to see how it sounded, but I'm also interested in the possibility of converting it to cardioid. The only difference in omni and the cardioid capsule that I can tell in the piece of metal behind the backplate. The omni version doesn't have any holes. I was also curious to see if they used the Neumann style backplate with the straight perpendicular lines cut into it, or the typical Chinese design with concentric grooves.

Can I disassemble this capsule and replace the back piece with no hold with one that I have with holes for cardioid without destroying the capsule?

Although I have not seen the cardioid capsule for sale on its own, you would be far better off just contacting them to see if you can buy the cardioid by itself. You will likely destroy it by trying to modify it.
