Never worked with variable caps before but it's clear that one needs replacing. However, I can't source the original component any more, but I'm a bit hesitant when it comes to choosing the right equivalent for the job. Would anyone be able to tell me what would be a good alternative for a TVR 14561 ? I've got a link to the datasheet here.
It's to be used on a fridge, so there sure is some HV surge protection needed!
