What's this TILT eq? anyone know how it works?

There are late 1930's tilt EQ's made by the Hollywood Photophone division of RCA for 'rerecording compensation' in film work. The 1950 RCA catalog covers the industrial install line a little bit, and several of those amps also have tilt circuits built in. Not sure when the first consumer tilt circuit would date.
 
I believe Klangfilm (german cinema tube stuff) had that as well in one of their EQs. There is a french site around, which has loads of documentation about that company, perhaps also about this eq. I might have the schematics somewhere as well, but have not time to search right now :sad:
