They are in stock at Farnell, Elfa and RS, so perhaps someone should send you one? You can order it from Farnell through Newark, but I don't know how much that would cost.

Depends on application.

For 48V phantom psu's yes.

But for 245V HT regulation in G9, you'll need the real thing.

According to the TI website it's "Active" but there's no price shown?

It is active, but there is no stock in any of their suppliers and they show no lead time... Smells like it's getting discontinued.

If I can find some, I'm getting 100!

Peace,
Al.

Are we all looking at the same screen????

Check out supertex regulators. I picked up a couple the other day, but have yet to hook them up and see how they work. A good selection of very high voltage regulators. 450V! inputs. Good for tubes I say.

Yes we are, but when you contact the distributors, they don't have shit. Memec does, but their minimum order quantity is 50, at $1.92 each :)shock:) plus $10 shipping + tax (no matter where you are). You can get 100 of them from Mouser for roughly the same amount of money... if they had them.

Peace,
Al.

...although, there's no reason why you couldn't use an external pass transistor. Certain transistors intended for horizontal output stages in televisions have pretty high collector-emitter breakdown voltage ratings.

I knew it was a good idea ordering a couple of extra ones from RS a while back
Am a happy bunny...

Yes, but this part:

should normally show a price - and there's no price for the TL783CKC.

Just got off the phone with "Tommy" from T.I. He said
the 783 has an A status, which is good.
A C or D part is in danger of being
obsoleted but an A part is not according to them.
For some reason, you now have to sign a waiver to get them.
Still waiting for them to explain that to me.
Remain calm. All is well (I hope).

Chris,

Weird. I just talked to the same person at TI. They said that within 6 months to a year the 783 would likely be discontinued. Looks like they dont want the high voltage risk.

What is they best sub for Phantom. 317HV?
