Xicon vs RCD resistors

Not sure when, but Mouser raised the price of Xicon resistors (1/4 metal film) You were able to buy 200 @ .02 each... now they are .05 each. RCD's from allied... $2.50 for 200
Anyone compared the Sound of these two? Just kidding '

The overall quality... I've used Xicons for a long time and they seem great! As usual, I am always concerned when switching to something new.

When gasoline was $0.29, resistors were $0.12.

Unless you are weaving resistors into fishing-nets, or assembing MILLIONS of units with prison labor, I don't see why you would switch from the Xicons which have been good for a long time

Because I'm seriously thinking about doing an "once and for all" 1/4W, 1%, metal film buy. 144 values (E48) 1000pcs each

RCD will cost me $1,440

Xicon will cost me $2,448-2,750

that's such a price jack, .03 or .04 would have been a big increase but this is crazy!

The same thing happened last year at Digikey with Yageo resistors...
