Hmmm, I'm not sure what to make of that

The idea that free will is an illusion is something I've looked into a lot and to be honest it's had a profound effect on how I view the world.

But the explanation of that idea (free will is an illusion) given in that first article seems a bit disjointed to me. Just a bit off the mark compared to a lot of other stuff I have read.
 
Makes me think of Donald Hoffman's theories and E8 theoretical physics theories.
The 'food chain analogy' of consciousness comes to mind.
I try to stay humble to the fact that the limits of perception are constrained by a reality that gives rise to the set of all conscious perceivers. :)
