Hey !
So i'm looking to take a cheap microphone and convert it to a studio ready microphone swapping the electronics and capsule.
I have the tools but not the knowledge, its my first time doing a project like this,I have a low budget

My questions are :
Do you have cheaper ?
Do i need something else ?
Do you think the capsule fit in this shell ?
Are the electronics parts " compatible " with the capsule?
Do i need something more if i take the "Empty body shell" one ?

Here is my plan so far :
For the microphone body :
Body shell
Empty Body Shell?
Capsule :
34mm capsule
Saddle for the capsule:
34mm LDC Saddle
Electronics parts :
OPA Alice - Single Channel
Capacitors - RF Suppression - PAIR
Mounting Hardware Set
DC-DC Hex Inverter PCB

TOTAL ( without shipping ) : 117$

For about the same price you could get the bits for the UTM U47Fet mic depending on how you do for a capsule.

I learned a lot buying a couple CHEAP used MXL 770 and 990 mics and bought transformer pcb kit for one, and a fet shoeps pcb kit for another from Mic Parts.
Don’t pay too much for the bodies!
It’s nice because you start and end with all the pieces of a mic. If it works, buy a cheap or expensive new capsule?
