Hello all,
I do not know if I am putting this in the right spot but here I go. So I changed the post that was already here in the lab. Here are pictures of the last boards I was working on. The picture on the bottom are the new boards that I will be ordering on Nov. 9. I have switched out the OEP for custom Edcor transformers. Input will be 500:200(1.581:1) and the output will be 200:1.8k(1:3). I will not be selling these boards on a regular basis but when I do a run of ordering for myself will offer for people to tag onto my order.

This is what I am offering. The PCB, custom Edcor input and output transformer and also a 24-0-24 Edcor power transformer. Please let me know if you will need 120 or 240v. They are only single primary but you will get .8 amps at both voltages. I will also provide you with a link to an easy buy BOM on mouser. All you will have to do is hit buy and then you can edit what you want if you don't like all the components I selected. Mike at hairball should be able to handle everything else for you!!! ;D

PCB Features:
Rev F design
Top layer ground plane
Pads for custom Edcor transformers
Switchable output transformers(you can use what you like but I like Carnhills LO1166 replica)
Input metering
Rev G Power supply with DC adjust
TO-5 sockets for Q1 and Q10
Custom transistor pads for easier soldering
All control components are on the board(no wiring caps to pots)
Red solder mask with inverted white silk screen
Everything is very clear a legible.

I would say that this is a beginner to intermediate build. There looks like a lot is going on with a lot of wires but it is actually very simple. These boards work and sound great and very straight forward to put together. I will also include a wiring diagram and I am on here at least once a day so you can ask any questions in this post!

If You are interested, please make payment of $150.00 USD to mohogaudio@gmail at paypal. This will include standard UPS shipping anywhere in the world and $200.00 insurance. I will order Monday November 9th and should have everything ready to ship By December 10th. Again, please state what voltage power transformer you will need!!! very important!!! I will probably not do another order for a while(3-6 months) so if you want one, now is the time. Thanks again everyone!!! Also, If I put this in the wrong area, please do not remove, just tell me where it needs to go. Thank you so much :)

let me know if you have any questions!
Brandon

The front looks hot mate! Well done.  :)

Your board looks so simple and bare compared to the Mnats Rev D I built.

How does it sound?

Thanks a lot! It only looks simple and bare because it's about 4 1/2" wider. Everything is a lot more spread out. He also has the IC option on his that I don't, but I have all the push button components on mine. I think it sounds great. I built the Mnats Rev J a while back also with the OEP's. This one is a little hotter "sounding", maybe due to the input attenuator. I also removed R84 (terminating resistor) which was not in the original schematic and it seemed to open the highs quite a bit. I am not to familiar with ringing and I don't have a scope but there is nothing I can hear and no adverse reactions in the chain. Just seemed to lift the highs a bit. I can"t wait to get on the next one!

edit: Sorry canidoit, I was comparing to his rev J. I haven't built his rev D. He does a great job and I wish i could figure out the ground plain in Pad2Pad.

Thanks a lot guys! Yes it is purple heart that I laminated to aluminum.

Beautiful wood no doubt. One of my favs. Slivers or splinters from it really suck though  :-\

Again, nice work Brandon.

Cheers, Jeff

Nice, another builder joins the commercial fray.  Nice cosmetic differentiation with the wood panel.  Good luck with it!

Yes, another guy trying to sell his gear. Thanks Doug, I appreciate that. I have always loved the 1176 but wanted to make one for myself and try to get the sound that I love. I really like the OEP's parallel with no termination(termination optional). I have also made it so you can switch between the OEP and a Carnhill on the output. You could use any transformer you wanted I guess. Just wire them to the OEP pads or the Carnhill terminal block. I have also switched the +8 to input metering. Again all features that I wanted. I think they sound great! I don't want to take anything away from Mnats, and he does great boards, but I just did a batch and willing to off load a few if there are anyone out there interested. Designed after the revF. Double sided, through plated with top layer ground plane PCB. All control and push button components are on the main board. These are pretty large boards considering, 4"x10". My last boards worked great, but I made a few modifications to these. Let me make sure they are good to go, then I will let anyone purchace if they like.

Here is a pic of the new boards which I will have on Thursday. Sorry, Pad2pad won't let you export image files so I had to print then scan.

Hello,
Here are some pics of the new boards. They came out great and I couldn't recommend Pad2pad enough. Also Front Panel Express is pretty amazing. Call Joe if you guys need any panels done.

hey casrec, would i be able to get my hands on a couple of your boards to try your build myself?

Let me make sure that everything on these new boards is OK. if it all checks out, I am going to sell them for USD $35 and that includes shipping worldwide. These are rather large boards considering(4x10") and you won't need push button PCB's. There is only pads for OEP transformer but you could wire hairballs transformers with quite ease. I just personally like oep's parallel with no termination. Call me crazy but I think they sound GREAT! Then you have the switchable carnhill or whatever transformer you want on the output for a different flavor.  Again just let me make sure everything is right on them and then I will probably have 25 or so to sell on this run.
