Hi
Just finished my ssl wich i´ve wired balanced through 6.3mm:s stereojacks: 0 to sleeve, - to ring and + to tip. Connecting a microphone, in and out through Gyraf G9preamp and then in through ssl to soundcard and everything works. Connecting an unbalanced auk guitar in/out through G9, in/out through ssl to soundcard, And it doesn´t work. The meter works, and i can adjust threshold and so on and the meter change, but NO sound. Now...is this an unbalanced issue...or what?. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Is the 1/4" jack on the pre wired correctly ?

it probably needs to be a switching type
to break the connection when the 1/4 jack is inserted
and make that the input to the pre

Hi
the gyraf pre is with xlr:s as shown. And the gssl has the 1/4" stereo jacks.

Running a gssl unbalanced wouldn't cause the problem you're having.  I use mine on my unbalanced console inserts all the time.  It just has the standard 6dB blanced to unbalanced level loss.  You've got some other issue going on.

I'm not familiar with the G9, so I can't help you there.
