....hm, that tube stage screams hype....and than the matching "tube" knobs, first thing I would do is replace those by sifam matching the others on this desk.
Agreed, a little too shiny as well ;D, but not bad of a move from A&H, not interested tough....
The pictures are a little deceiving. It is not really that shinny. I saw it at the NAMM show and put my hands on it. It actually looks better in person, which is hard to believe. Seemed to work pretty good. I'm trying to see if I can score a demo board down here in Central Florida so I can run some comparisons.
For around $8k with moving faders it is not such a bad deal, specially if it sounds as good as I hope it does. It sure is more affordable than a $80k AWS 900. And I'm pretty sure that they want to hit the market that SSL can come down to.
