FR4 will be fine. Standard 1.6mm thick will be fine. G10 lacks FR4's self extinguishing properties so I would not recommend it.

It depends on the heat. For small tubes such as 12AX7 or EF86, no problem, but power tubes, you need to make sure there's proper ventilation. I wouldn't mount 6L6's, even 6V6's on a PCB. I've done it with EL84's, with good results.

I must admit, when you asked if you could mount tube sockets on FR4. I assumed you were talking about a PCB bu it should work just as well for a turret tag board.
