I'd like to buy a T14/1 directly from Haufe but their minimum order is €120 so I'm probably going to order 3 (= about €50 a piece + shipping and packing).
Anyone interested in one?

EDIT: I have a couple of transformers left. €55 a piece. PM me if you want one.

I tested two different TX with the same ratio of a t14 from Haufe against the Haufe and the Haufe turned out to be the weakest for me. It has a early bass roll and I don't like that. The Ami has less of that and Max Kirchners clunky BV14 was my choice. Never the less you might even not need bass cut a voice when using a Haufe which can be an advantage.

Interesting. In which circuit and with which capsule did you make the test?
This is not the first time reading about the not so good reputation of the current Haufe T14/1...

Used the T14/1 in a Siemens SM204 rebuild with self Bias. No Bass problems at all. The Haufe has maybe a Problem with higher Levels, because its a small Transformer and you have more distortion with high level Signals. Someone like this  more (me to). Ck12 Capsules are strong in low frequenzy Response, with a ami or cinemag Transformer (they have extended Bass response) you have a more hifi sounding mic with heavy bass and highs but less mid response. Is my personal view.

The tube also have an deep impact to the sound, for me no other tube sound so great in a C12 or SM204 circuit than a good GE 6072 Five Star Tube. I’ve tested many other 12ay7 Tubes and only the GE works as expected. A good one is rare to find in these Days. The Capsule in my Build is a Haun CK12.

So the Haufe is a good Transformer.  A to bassy microphone can make many problems.

Well, I still hope the Haufe T14/1 in my C12 build will get me as close to the original as possible.
At Telefunken they're still using it in their mics so i can't be that bad.
BTW, I wouldn't  reach for a C12 if I wanted to record something that's bass heavy...

I tested it in a elam 251 circuit with campbell ct12.  It is true, I prefer extended bass response as I play cello. Cutting bass afterwards is always possible.

The Haufe T14/1 does indeed roll off bass, a fact that AKG were aware of and approved of. Rumble from condenser mics was a real problem back in the day, and the earlier C12s are known for being s little on the dull side, so perhaps the haufe corrected the perceived problem. Although I believe it was just so they only needed one transformer for the C12 and C28 reducing production costs.

If you are building a C12 to spec then coupled with a 0.5uf filter cap the bass rolls off by 3db at 10 CPS. The low end is particularly good on both the ELA and C12 so you know perhaps haufe/akg new what they were doing after all.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

oh yes I agree with that, I tested a dozend 6072 tubes and the only one which stands out is a GE6072 5 star. I do like Telefunken ecc801s also in an elam, so I have one with a 6072 and one with a ecc801s and adjusted bias as a stereo pair...I't s good enough for jazz, they do sound different though.

I'm not a real specialist, but my new Haufe T14 looked pretty different than on old pics, I have the feeling the new ones are smaller
but maybe I'm wrong. https://reverb.com/item/1831679-akg-c28-tube-mic Anyway I built my mic for the sound I was after, not for the recreation of something I never heard myself.

i don't know about the size different to the old T14, but the Iron Package from the new one is higher.
In the Picture you see the difference between the AMI T14 (it came broken to me) an the Haufe T14/1.

i really like the sound of the SM204 Rebuilt, it is a mix between U47 and C12. Incredible on all String Instruments.
Better than my original U47.
