@sredna & Volker: Hi both & thanks for your suggestions. I tried SH-halbleiter first (as they are close by - in Germany) and they have the transistors (  :D ) even at a reasonable price - so that seems to be a very helpful hint - thanks so much!

Some time ago, when construction ricardo's ribbon2 preamp, I bought 2SC3329 from futurelec very reasonably and they work brilliantly in this preamp to take 50 ohm output from ribbon mic to normal preamp, so that there is no need for a secondary transformer outboard of the mic.

Thank you also from your feedback. I will keep futurlec in mind should my contact with sh-halbleiter somehow not be successful. And it is good to know that the noise level is so low that it can handle 50 ohms sources without undue noise ...
