Profile 4804 vs Sowter 9825

Hi all

Got a email from Mike at profile today about the
4804. He says at least 3 months so I'm thinking
about using the sowter 9825 In my Fabio 312s. Has anyone here
ever heard the sowter in the 312?? What does it sound
like compared to the 2503 or the 4804??? :?

never heard 4804,but the one from sowter shure sounds nice.
i have a 3124+,and fabio`s clone with cinemag 75101,melcor 1731,and the sowter,it`s just as good,if not .........(better).

Thanks for your thoughts and your ears. I've been
wanting to get my 312s finished and just can't
wait much longer for profiles. Like you I am using 1731s.
I think I'll give the sowter trafo a shot.

you have another option:jlmaudio has an output tranny that seems to be close to the former api.
go to jlmaudio.com.
you will find there lots of very good info,and joe malone is a very nice person.
what are you going to use for input(tranny)?.
since you are begining to build your clones,let me tell you this:as for the relays,don`t use 5volts relays.go for higher voltage,because it will be easyer on the psu rail.
for the melcors,i build them as original.there is some mods,but i like them this way.see"melcor deconstructed" thread.
