Wanted 5Meg Log Potentiometer

Hey there,
looking for a 5M log potentiometer. Something high quality. I cant find anything on the net. I need 1/4“ shaft and 3/8“ bushing.

I'm thinking you might have to build a stepped attenuator version and I'm curious about how one computes the log steps.

Look for a 4M7. It's very unlikely that it will make a difference & you are still within 10%

..and if 10% isn't precise enough, then good luck finding any pot with tolerances better than that..

If for compressor release duties (i.e. ~variable resistance, not divider), a dual 2M2 or 2M5 with the two sections in series sometimes work fine..

not sure about quality, but I am looking at a site with Panasonic 5m log pots which also have a spst switch. for about 5 bucks US.

I have no idea what you guys are up to - I had just recalled seeing 5M log pots with switches. let me dig up the link. They are 3 bucks each in lots of 25.... https://www.tedss.com/2022005743 It is nice having one of their warehouses about 10 minutes from my house ;-)
