A dollar to join?

Just been reading a thread at gearslutz about folk trying to sign up here and having difficulty or it taking a long time. One of the reasons given is the high incidence of spam. Despite that we have over 400 new members this year according to the same thread. So I just wondered, if it cost people a dollar to join, do you think that would wee out the spammers?

I am fairly new to GDIY and had zero issues signing up. Thank you for that.

I remember years ago the Oxygen "Try before you buy" software clones of VST that flooded every computer I encountered. The nice thing is we actually did purchase the products we used and the others were forgotten.

Prior to joining GDIY we obviously frequented other audio forums. I am less interested in opinion based forums then fact based information lead conversations.

With that said I for one would gladly pay a premium to GDIY.

Two spam accounts deleted so far today... these were sleepers that joined several months ago when the gate was left open fo a couple days.
