Mikrofon ist angekommen :D

zu grell in den hoehen. Ich mag es so nicht! Klingt nicht wie meine Stimme. STimme klingt hoeher als in der Realitaet.
Brauche die mod, oder mikrofon kommt wieder weg!

English is still the official language on this forum...

sry, I meant to say. The mic is too bright, I haTe the sound. That's far from my actual voice. It needs to be modded now!

Are you sure it's too bright? It doesn't sound particularly bright to me. "Bright" usually meaning too much above 8-10kHz.

It does sound a bit too "present," though - meaning too much in the 5-8kHz range. The mod won't help with that, but a de-esser could.

So mod it already - you been given all the info you need to do so.

I still maintain that your issue lies elsewhere, though.
@plautus
Help us so we can help you.

Post an example from YouTube, with what type of sound you would like for Voice-Over.

Of course your voice also needs some processing, and then we can suggest some plugins/presets.
The microphone is just one factor in the whole audio equation.

We don't even know exactly what you want yet.

It needs to be modded now!

The modification just reduces the high frequencies, you can do the same with an EQ plugin in your recording software to check how it will sound.

That's far from my actual voice.

You need someone else to evaluate that, you can never know what your voice sounds like from in front of your head, you only hear it from inside your head, or through a microphone and through speakers.

I want a u87 sound, or simply very very natural and clear b ut no sibilance! and not overly bright.
yes I can evaluate my own voice, maybe u cant lol.

You've already been told that the AKG mod previously described results in a response difficult to distinguish from a U87.

what I get from this post is that i need to exchange the capacitator with the 680pF capacitor, but he doesnt tell which one. Does it matter from where I buy it? they all look different though have the same name

And btw what is attentuation? the perception has weaker high freq attentuation. what does that mean?

Also from what I see on this diagram is that true frequency responses differ a lot from what company diagrams look like

When we do voice casting, delivery of the line and character of the voice are the most important. The acoustic of the room and the mic used are rarely a factor because when the VO Talent is chosen the lines are re recorded in a professional facility under the supervision of the Agency Creatives.

Seems you have a few options:

Try EQ’ing - same result as mod.
Move away from the mic - proximity will change the sound a lot - and then try closer to the mic to see if it gets worse (or better).
Try putting some soft absorbent material on your desk surface between you and the mic to avoid reflective coloration of the mic sound to see if that’s an issue.
For a proper evaluation mount your mic on a different stand and experiment with vocal distance positions and mic attitude angles away from your desk.
Try some other mics in a pro audio store - taking your mic with you to compare.
A shotgun mic maybe would mask a lot of room issues if your mic sounds fine elsewhere.

I would imagine that if you go and buy a mic based on some form of consensus of the “best mic” you’ll end up frustrated.

Your ears are the true guide and will tell you if your mic technique is wrong or if a different mic is indeed better or worse or your room has issues.

The thread I pointed out to you explains exactly how the mod is made, what types of capacitors are used, other details, etc.
You just have to read the 23 pages and try to understand.
People with no experience in electronics have successfully managed to achieve excellent results with this mod.

ok

but he doesnt tell which one.

That may be so, but...

HE SHOWS YOU!!!

I can understand not bothering to read all the 23 pages in that thread, or even not all the text even in the original post, but... Come on, not even looking at (or not seeing?) even the ONE PICTURE in that post? Seriously???

How and why are we supposed to think you're NOT still just trolling us? 😳
