Thanks for the advice
Luckily my sockets are not red
I'm cleaning everything, including faders, which seem reborn.
I only have a problem on a channel:
when I insert the equalizer, the level increases by 3 dB (the equalizer works fine and I've already changed all the chips).

a question:
There is space on the PCB for other ICs and perhaps another transformer .....
may be to balance out?
thanks

Ok, no EQ cards it´s an M2016 not the M2000/2500 transition model. So forget about that comment.
Those empty "IC" holes were options to fit global desk status realys (Master AB and Master Remix)
Hey, your channels are ful of tantalum caps. No wonder that the PSU craps out. It´s probably overloaded since a bunch of tantalums gave up their lives as caps and turned into resistors.... recap everything and you will have a lot less sorrows.

thanks jensenmann
Luckily I've had no problems with PSU
I bought a bigger power supply (2000 Series) and the problems are gone ....
the old power supply, is the M series.
I did not know that the tantalum worsen with time (as the electrolyte).
thanks

Hello
are okay with what you say, but I changed the power supply because the console has a strange configuration.
Normally I read that made two versions:
20 channels + 4 stereo groups
28 channels + 4 stereo groups

mine is 32 channels + 4 stereo groups.

In fact I think I've solved everything
only problem was on 2 channels:
when I insert EQ, level rises by 3dB.
I double checked everything but can not find the problem
Ideas?
thanks

I have  completely recapped (2016 Channels)+ PSU
I really like the sound of this console and I just want to make some changes to improve it ...
First of all the noise
There is something that could be improved?
I wonder if balance all the channels and the master with transformers may make sense ...
The EQ has no bell, but only for 10 frequency multiplier ...
Can I add bell and variable frequency?
I have all the schematics ...
thanks!!!

Btw, consider to pull all chips and stick them back in. Contacts may have suffered over time. If there´s a socket which obviously has not much force left to hold the chips then replace it. I´ve been told that there were few desks with red sockets which are known as troublemakers. These should be replaced anyway.

Further along those lines, when you pull and replace the ICs you might consider cleaning their pins with DeoxIT, then cleaning off the DeoxIT and treating with a small amount of PreservIT. The stuff really works.

Peace,
Paul

A lot can be done if there´s real estate ton the frontpanel and inside.

Last question:

I entered on the master 2 Carnhill 2281 to balance the output.
I need zobel network?
thanks

I discovered that the converters are mounted on a rack case, I connected the rack box to the star ground of the Amek.
now all buzzing and hum disappeared!!!
