Hello everyone,

I've just finished building an AML ez1084 kit. I've got everything done and assembled, and I've triple checked all of my solder joints. However, when I power it up, my lunchbox LEDs do not illuminate, and I get a short audio 'pop' from channel 1 every second. This happens regardless of which slots I have the 1084 connected. I've also tried removing all other modules from the lunchbox but the same symptom prevails.

I'm not very technical...yet...just handy with a soldering iron and some basic electronics knowledge. I figure this is a great way to level up my knowledge of circuit design and troubleshooting so any help would be greatly appreciated!

could be any number of things,. if you know the chassis is sound then you need a module extender to test the eq in the open.

I built a test jig for such things. it makes was work of trouble shooting 500 modules.

joints are half the battle, the other half is all the parts in the right spots in the right orientation

Thanks for the reply. I did see some of those extenders for sale, I'll have to purchase one (building one is out of my wheelhouse).

I will go through the module today and ensure all components are in their proper orientation.
