Any thoughts on using AES cable for analog?

I need to do a 200' analog run, mostly used as line level, but may be used as mic level, and came across some Belden 1803A digital AES cable for cheap. Can anyone tell me if this would have adverse effects used for an analog run?

I've often used VanDamme green AES cable for audio as well. Saves buying 2 different types. However, I've not had runs of that length, but I don't forsee any problems.

Don't worry, so-called "AES" cable works great for analog. The only real difference is that it tends to be thicker and averages about one-third the capacitance per foot of regular shielded pair cable--and in that last respect, you could say it's actually better.

Our TV truck is (mostly) analog, but we wired it up with AES-compatible and HD-compatible cable and patchbays to facilitate any future changeover to digital.

Niels, I have encountered the occasional slight microphonic behaviour form some types of AES cables when feeeding certain source/load impedance combinations... For concealed installs this isn't usually a problem, but for exposed use, I'd bear it in mind. Also, the handlability/flexability of most AES cables is often not so good... Again, not usually an issue in fixed/concealed applications.

Oh, and your CAT-35a tester is here by the way...
