I gave up some. time ago and use hairball instead for Summit repairs. Thru hole builds that can be fixed, not tossed when/IF popped in the future.
Dunno if he was at AES.

About 2 months back I emailed John Hardy for support on an M1 Mic Pre I purchased from him a few decades ago.
He did respond within a day and helped me with some schematic info.
He did mention that he was looking to move away from using the Jensen Transformers and having his own made.
Can't comment on how active he is recently however in terms of production etc.
