Anyone tried these for audio gear, specifically EQ's?

They are not expensive & widely available from Farnell & Newark.

500mH inductor : 70F501AF DCR 736 ohms - too high for EQ's?

The self res is high enough since a 500 mh coil would be operating down at 100 hz or below, so your ok as far as capacitance. I am woried about the dcr. Seems like it would upset the Q of the curve, flatten it out too much. Maybe a simulation would be in order.

Miller coils are like Allen Bradley resistors: they are (or used to be) the plain-vanilla standard of the industry. Any good radio experimenter had a set of drawers of Miller coils.

Your problem is that the the inductance, current, and DCR values we need in audio are very small-demand. As you note they don't have the higher inductances and the medium inductances have high DCR and low current ratings. (In audio, an iron-core choke should not get an audio current anywhere near the DC current rating of the choke.)
