Apogee Duet output (lack of)

Hi guys,

This is a long shot but has anyone worked on an Apogee duet (firewire first edition)?

I have had it from new and first one output channel stopped working. Now the other channel has failed and the headphones too. It lights up and talks to the computer, so I believe it to be a hardware issue.

Or is it time to sling it and find a replacement?

Hey Stewart,

I've never repaired one but have used one in the studio. I remember it having super cheesy molded breakout cables, does yours have those?

Hi Ruairi,

Yes, it does. I was suspicious of that, but the headphone out died at the same time, and that is mounted on the front of the board. So I am now suspecting an on board amp stage.

I have just tried it on my laptop with all the latest drivers. The bar meters on the front flash up along with the music, but still no output.

The only thing that I do hear is a click when I mute or un-mute the device.
