Hello,
So, over last weekend my TV died, luckily i had my old ACER P223w 22" PC monitor, SO I was able to put my NowTV box, and Xbox 360 into the screen, but when it came to going to sleep, i had to get up and turn off the screen, i wonder if i can build a on off stitch i can use with a basic push button remote that works like normal remotes on IR. buit i don't know what and where to start. the screen has no warranty so am not too bothered about opening it.
my initial thoughts to start it was, put the IR receiver between the mains and the screen so it will stop power going in?
and like wise with other devices.
am not bothered how crude the remote or the set up looks as long as it works. I have also worked with high voltages before, after repairing several valve radio/gramophones/amps.
I was looking at pre-made receivers/transmitters http://www.bitsbox.co.uk/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=transmitter
or if thats impracticable then a differant idea?
thank you
