Not a big news here, but some interesting details.

The body is thicker and resonate quite less than the old one. Also the logo is not engraved anymore :)
The overall circuit is the same as the old Pro version with small difference in the voltage amplifier part (not sure if I draw correctly the arrows).
The first fet is not a J305 anymore, but a 2N5457, the rest are smd.
The head is not detachable.
The finish I guess is a bit cheaper, as well as the circuit and quality control (look at that open blue film capacitor!)
The capsule is still a good one from 797 and less bright than the previous one (good point here!).
But the circuit noise is higher (I have two samples and they both are noisier than the old ones).

It can seem less mod friendly but I see a lot of space to place a good transformer, use the original voltage amplifier board and enough space to install a truly U87 amplifier with its deemphasis.

The plugable headbasket is gone a long while now , its a pity really it was quite a nice feature .
Good news though about the extra weight in the body and the logo .

and quality control (look at that open blue film capacitor!)

That's not necessarily a QC issue, as much as a component selection design (or production?) decision. Looks like a "open-looking" film cap that happens to have a heatshrunk sleeve on it from the factory(?).

That's not to say the workmanship is the best ever possible, though...

Those stacked caps get larger values into a smaller space than wound foils , there also less inductive because of the way the foils are layed down .

Those capacitors actually aren't common or ultra cheap. I bought them before and they might look as if they cheaped out but they are special!

Here it goes, my best sounding 87 style mic. Some foam under capsule, "direct" 150pf deemphasis and an optional -3db (instead of -10db) switch by exchanging R21 and R23.

I tried to fit a low cut but didn't succeed for now

Some post comments, the -3db really change a bit the coloration, so reducing the gain stage seems to help the transformer. Also the type of the cap in the deemphasis and where it was connected, also changes the sound. I guess I like more the old styroflex rather than the "wima" (not sure if its original).

One more sample, first disappointment with 797 capsule. Are Behringer buying rejects?

This is the rear, the front one seems ok

Btw the fet is BF245A in this sample

Tested this B2pro converted in U87 against an original and quite new Neumann U87ai a week ago in a studio of a friend. My mic was quite darker and had a lot more low end. So will remove the foam and cut lows. The noise was 2-3db lower in Neumann.

The body of the new B2pro itself, without the rest of assembly, rang less than the original one, and was thicker/heavier. But the assembly of the new Neumann are very tight so guess the resonances aren't an issue there.

B2-PRO new version, have you converted it to U87i or U87ai?
Did you use the stock capsule from the B2-PRO new, which appears to be a 797 model CY002?
Did you use 2N3819 instead of BF245?
