At the risk of posting on an old topic....
i want to mod my x1204usb fx to lower the noise floor when using very high gain on the mic pre when using dynamic mics' (lots of hiss now up around 50-60 db gain)
so a few questions. first, what is the package types used for the opamps?
second are there any other mod threads anyone knows of that deal with this same topic? Plus any practical advice from anyone who has successful lowered the high gain noise would be appreciated.
i also saw mention of upgrading pots, but it was unclear if that was to reduce noise or for some other reason.
