Hello, I've noticed some slight browning of a single resistor on a couple of my VP28's and my FC526s. I'm told this resistor protects against ground faults or power problems but I'm not sure of this. I haven't noticed any extra noise on these units vs others without the browning. Anyone know the possible cause and whether its cause for concern? My best theory is it could be from a few hot swaps I accidentally did. I'll attach photo's below

What rack are you using? The 1/2W 10Ω resistors connect the rack's card edge pin #1 (Chassis) to PSU ground which is card edge #5 and #13. If your rack is wired in a normal and proper configuration, there will never be any current flowing across those R's.

It’s a Wes Audio Super Carrier II. I did have a ground fault that fried  one of my 28s...is it possible the damage spread to every module?

@jsteiger Assuming they got cooked a little during the ground fault/power surge issue I had, is it possible they would introduce ground noise/buzz if they’re compromised? I do have ground buzz issues in my house but I don’t think it’s
Specific to those modules.

What ground fault was that?
can you elaborate, what happened, what was the issue, how did it get solved?
