I have a question regarding the gyraf calrec mini psu pcb.
I've drawn the pcb design with an etch resistant pen straight onto a blank board as it is in the pdf file.
Question is do I have the design round the wrong way?
Is the layout in the pdf reversed for use with printing on transperency?

not sure of my terminology here this is why the reason I did it reversed....

The clue is the 7815 - viewed from the front (with the metal backing at the back) it looks like this

input - ground - output

To get the conenctions right you would have had flip the solder side - because the component side connections "works" i.e. the left leg goes to the input stream
Then I imagined putting a 7815 in and see what legs would then appear on the solder side...

I drilled the holes first via the non copper side of the PCB and then turned it over and etched it

(NB - I haven't fired it up yet - so.....)

the pdf is drawn from the top, that is from the components-side. If you want to draw directly onto copper you should flip it..

adios,
corneel

uhm.... the easiest way would be to print on transparant paper and flip the paper... otherwise you could import the pdf into an imaging program like photoshop or illustrator and mirror it...
